Bleaberry Fell - Route One

 

Start - Dale Bottom NY 297 214 Distance - 1.9 miles Ascent - 1,470 feet Time - 1 hour : 30 minutes


 
 

 

A stile and footpath sign situated a few hundred yards to the south of Dale Bottom provide the starting point for this walk
The footpath runs parallel to the main road heading towards Shoulthwaite Gill.  However it's followed for a few yards before turning off to follow the wall below Snipes How
Dodd Crag on Bleaberry Fell comes into view as the path passes below Snipes How

Dodd Crag across Bracken Riggs, a half left turn from this point leads to the top of Snipes How

Following the wall on Bracken Riggs heading towards Shouthwaite Gill with Iron Crag directly ahead.  This route is not practical in late summer when the path is choked by high bracken

On reaching the open slopes the summit ridge comes into view

There is only a faint trace of a path as a half right turn is made to traverse above the top of Goat Crag towards the summit
